Background Independent Exposure is Microcinema's well known touring festival of moving image art (short film, video and digital moving images). Since 1996, Independent Exposure has screened in 43 countries plus Palestine and Antarctica. The festival features cutting edge artists whose work you will not see at the local megaplex. Independent Exposure "premieres" in San Francisco and then travels around the world - intriguing audiences at microcinemas, festivals, and special events. I was asked to do the opening titles for the 2007 Independent Exposure program - dubbed The Art of the Moving Image and sponsored by Panasonic. Over the years, several of my films - Buena Vista Fight Club, Fansom the Lizard, Red Vines, Airplane Glue, Icarus of Pittsburgh, Bodybags, and Expressions - have screened as part of the worldwide touring program. The concept of the title sequence was to highlight this fact that my films have screened in microcinemae all over the world thanks to Independent Exposure – thus the world map, the usage of my films, et cetera. |
